TL;DR: Garena Free Fire and PUBG Mobile secure two of the most watched games across Twitch, YouTube Gaming, and Facebook Gaming.
Mobile gaming continues to carve out a large market share on western live streaming platforms. Although India banned the PUBG Mobile earlier this year, the game is performing exceptionally well, especially on Facebook Gaming. On the other hand, Garena Free Fire has dominated the YouTube Gaming market as 69% of its viewership comes from the platform. Combined, the two mobile giants generated about 72M hours watched last week to secure 2 of the top 5 most watched categories.
- Garena Free Fire had the 3rd highest average viewership last week with about 208K viewers.
- PUBG Mobile and Garena Free Fire had the lowest airtime of all games in the top ten last week but still managed to generate more hours watched than Fortnite, CS:GO, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
- Mobile games are widely available due to the ease of downloading and the nature of playing on phones and tablets allowing the mobile market to have a large potential target demographic. This can lead to sustained high viewership as the gaming, esports, and live streaming markets continue to grow.
