This Week’s Meta: Genshin Impact

The new free-to-play RPG game made some waves on streaming platforms following its release reaching over 14M hours watched.

Genshin Impact has taken the western market by storm following its release in late September. This free-to-play RPG has already passed 17 million downloads as of October 5th on mobile devices alone. With its success on across mobile devices and PC, it comes as no surprise there’s a large audience for Genshin Impact on streaming platforms. Sitting at over 14 million hours watched in its first week, the game hopes to keep some momentum heading into Q4 but only time will tell if it’ll last in the market.

  • Twitch held 82.7% of the Genshin Impact market share across the 3 North American streaming platforms with about 12 million hours watched.
  • Twitch streamer Rubius had the highest peak in the first week with 91k viewers coming during his sponsored segment for the game.
  • Collectively, Genshin Impact broke 300K concurrent viewers for its peak last week.
