Top Esports Organizations in Live Streaming: August 2022

LUMINOSITY TOPS CHARTS FOR SECOND STRAIGHT MONTH

Despite a slight drop in viewership for its top content creator xQc, Luminosity once again led all esports organizations in hours watched last month. Top creator xQc generated 17.8 million hours watched in August, accounting for 77% of the total hours watched for his org but down from his totals of 18 million and 82% for July. Further helping Luminosity solidify its place at the top was the strong performance of the Seattle Surge in the Call of Duty League Championship.

BIG JUMPS FOR ESPORTS HOURS WATCHED

T1’s second place finish in last month’s LCK also pushed the org into the second spot for the top organizations of August. T1’s finals match generated an impressive 1.4M peak viewers and the team was the most watched participant in this year’s LCK playoffs.

Both 100 Thieves and G2 broke into this month’s top 10 thanks in large part to their esports teams. 100 Thieves qualified for the upcoming VCT Championships in Turkey while G2’s LEC run has bolstered the org’s viewership.

The final new face in this month’s top 10 also benefited from increased esports exposure as Sentinel’s signing of shroud to its VALORANT roster for the NA LCQ allowed the org to finish with the 8th most hours watched.

CONTENT CREATOR HOURS WATCHED REMAIN STRONG

The remaining five (5) teams on this month’s leaderboard all saw their content creators generate more than 60% of their organization’s total monthly viewership. Each of these 5 orgs are filled with talented creators, but were led at the top by: FaZe Clan– NickMercs (5.1M), TSM– TSM_ImperialHal (2.2M), Cloud 9– Forsen (1.8M), NRG– Aceu (1.5M), and Team Liquid– Mendo (1.2M).
